How engagement rate is calculated
The standard formula is (likes + comments) ÷ followers × 100. Some analysts calculate per-post rates against reach instead of followers; the follower-based version is the one most brands and benchmarks use, and it's what this calculator computes.
What's a good rate?
Across most niches: 1–3% is average, 3–6% is good, and 6%+ is excellent. Size matters — accounts under 10k followers often exceed 5%, while million-follower accounts rarely pass 2%.
